E-4802 is a 2 mil transparent PO (polyolefin) label made of soft material with a permanent water-based acrylic adhesive — the clear-facestock counterpart to the white E-4812. It is designed for identification labelling of cryogenic laboratory sample containers: polypropylene (PP) cryogenic vials, tubes and storage boxes (PP and cardboard) stored from −150 °C to −196 °C in liquid nitrogen. Information stays secure for the full duration of the sample's cryogenically extended life, and the label survives up to 10 thaw-and-refreeze cycles. Application is by direct labelling of frozen surfaces at −80 °C — the −196 °C figure is the storage/service temperature, not an application temperature, and the label must never be applied while immersed in liquid nitrogen. It is designed for PP cryovials/cryotubes and is not recommended for glass serum vials (西林管).
